Prior to the meeting, OUARC and Astronomy club members were able to receive the Sputnik II satellite using 2 meter HTs and mobiles. Audio files containing the beacon signal will be posted to this web site soon.

Reading of Last Month's Minutes
Old Business
- The QSL card committee has had no meetings.
- We are slowly moving into CEC S-2 and should fully acquire it for storage in the near future. Prospects for other club rooms are currently infeasible, although the CEC penthouse may become available eventually.
- T-Shirt sales raised around $550 this term. The money is still being collected from OU.
New Business
- Plans for next year: none in particular
- The Technician License Class will start on Monday January 12th. It will probably be held at the National Weather Service building.
- The OUARC is purchasing new tapes for the license class. SCARS is puchasing several textbooks.
- Discussion of Field Day and the purchase of more text books has been tabled until the next meeting.
Announcements
- Don Byrer KJ5KB is acquiring a large quantity of out-of-service trunk mounted commercial VHF radios. They are crystal tuning for up to four channels. Contact Don if you are interested in purchasing one or more.
- If you are interested in building one of the kits mentioned at the last meeting, be sure to contact Brian McDonald asap.
