- Call to Order
- Reading of Last Month's Minutes
They were passed around with one error being noted (in the VHF contest, we made 3700 POINTS, not 3700 contacts).
- Old Business
- September VHF QSO Party
The dupe sheets were passed around for inspection,
the point totals were discussed, and highlights were pointed out, including a
2 and 6 meter SSB contacts with South Dakota and a 70 cm FM contact with Dallas.
- SET (Simulated Emergency Test)
The ARRL Calendar was wrong on its given
date for the SET. Oklahoma did not have one anyway but may schedule one at a
later date (see John Patrick for details).
We may also contac OUDPS to see if they have anything like this on an annual
or semiannual basis.
- Room Status
No Change. However, we will continue to watch the
possibilities closely.
- Kit Building
Strong Possibilities: Rapid battery chargers, W1AW Receiver,
Shortwave Receiver We set a date of January 13 for this and will postpone the
January Meeting until that day (a week later). For this, members and those
interested are asked to bring their own soldering iron, if they have one. Also,
attendees are asked to bring their kit. See
Brian McDonald
if you would like to order one of those listed above.
- New Business
- ARRL November Sweepstakes. This reminded us that we need to find out
our club's founding date (or year), which according to mystic, was sometime
in the 1920's. For information on upcoming contests, see
John Patrick.
- Spending Our Money. Possibilities: Another Tent (10'x20' for $177),
Tables (8' heavy duty for $38 or make our own?), Radio ($350-$400 for 6m all
mode), Antenna (a vertical band trap antenna for $100-$150).
We agreed to get a tent and two tables. [Ed note Nov 21: we did get the
larger tent and two heavy duty folding tables for approx. $250]
