19:00 Tuesday, June 3, 1997
Energy Center 723
- Intro
BS should be held until the post-meeting ragchew. This is a no BS meeting.
And now for Mark's presentation...
- Presentation
Mark Kleine explained everything there is to know about designing,
filling out, requesting, exchanging, collecting, and attracting
QSL cards.
- Discussion
- HamCom - June 7-8, in Dallas, TX
John and Peter will leave from the EC parking lot Saturday at 7:00am.
Participation by others seems to depend on the weather.
Nobody prepaid for entry fee reimbursement and the money can be better
used on equipment. There may be gas reimbursement for those car-pooling,
depending on participation.
- VHF QSO Party - June 14-16
Minimal interest was expressed so we won't do this.
- Antenna Party at Don's (KJ5KB)
Much was accomplished including the building of a few antennas.
A 4 band dipole for the club was built along with a few personal 2m
antennas. The club still needs an 80m dipole for field day. Jud (W5JA)
has a 40/80m trap we can use. Don says,
Skiffy Woo!
and chaos ensues.
- Field Day - June 28-29, at Duck Pond
- People
We have enough.
- Equipment
- Borrowed
Lenders were confirmed.
- Need to buy
- Two 36' push up masts will be purchased from Radio Shack
for about $60 each using a UOSA purchase order.
- Two pavillion tents will be purchased for $22 each.
- Publicity
John found a place that will prepare a 3'x8' banner for $50.
It will say "OU W5TC", "Amateur Radio Club".
- Food
The club will buy burgers, hot dogs, buns, and drinks. Bring
your own snacks.
- Weather Spotting
Peter has poster sized maps of Cleveland and McClain counties available
for $1.25.
- Plans for July/August
To be discussed on the OUARC NET, Tuesday nights at 7:00pm on 147.470
simplex.
- The crowd retired to a very skiffy woo eatery around 8:30pm.
