Amateur Radio Networks

Here are some local nets with regular schedules:

Tech Net
Meets every Thursday of the month at 8:00 PM local time on the 146.670 (-) repeater.
Technical discussions about amateur radio, where new Hams can ask questions pertaining to the technical side of Amateur Radio and get answers from the seasoned Elmers.

Oklahoma ARES Net
Meets every Thursday at 8:00 PM local time on the 146.820 (-) repeater.
This is the weekly meeting of the Oklahoma ARES.

Swap Net
Meets every Saturday at 10:00 AM local time on the 146.820 (-) repeater.
Here you can listen to hams who have Ham Radio-related equipment available for sale or trade.

Local Amateur Radio Events

Here are some regularly scheduled events in the Oklahoma City/Norman area:

Transmitter Hunt
Also know as Fox Hunting, this is scheduled for every Saturday, at 7:00 PM local time in Oklahoma City. There are two scheduled locations, each in Oklahoma City, which alternate weeks. To find out where the T-hunt is this week, listen to the 146.670 (-) repeater a few hours before the hunt. It will announce the T-hunt as either North or South. The two starting locations and boundary limits are:
  • North
    • Start: The Denny's at N.W. 63rd and May.
    • Boundary: North: Edmond Rd., South: I-40, East: I-35, West: County Line Rd.
  • South
    • Start: The back parking lot at Denny's at I-240 and Pennsylvania.
    • Boundary: North: 15th St., South: 119th St., East: Midwest Blvd., West: County Line Rd.
The hunt frequency is 147.470 (Simplex), while the coordination frequency is on the 146.670 (-) repeater.
